Scott Hamm

Director of Golf course maintenance & grounds

Scott has been a certified golf course superintendent for over 20 years and is certified in Best Management Practices for golf courses. Prior to joining Haig Point in 2016, he was the Director of Golf Development for WCI Communities where he oversaw the development and construction of all their golf courses.

Adam comes to Haig Point from South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR stop, Harbour Town Golf Links in The Sea Pines Resort where he was the Lead Assistant Golf Professional for three years. Before moving to Hilton Head Island in 2010, Adam received a Bachelors’ of Science in Finance and added a minor in Real Estate.
Growing up in Lakeland, FL soccer, golf and fishing grabbed all of his attention. Played soccer competitively for many years and eventually took that to college where he played at the University of Central Florida was a part of the 2009 graduating class.

Fred, a father of two young children, grew up in Coronado, California. He moved to the low country in 2005 and joined Haig Point as an Assistant Golf Professional.

Jay RouxJay Roux, PGA

Jay joined the Haig Point team after spending two years as an Assistant Professional at St. Louis Country Club. Prior to joining St. Louis Country Club he was an Assistant Professional at Winghaven Country Club both in Missouri. Jay is a member of the PGA of America, he was elected April of 2017.
Jay has been in charge of the Junior Golf programs and the Ladies Golf Committees at each of his two previous clubs.

Ron Gwyn Director of Tennis

Ron Gwyn has been the Director of Tennis at The Haig Point Club since 1996. Prior to Haig Point, Ron served as the Director of Tennis at The Daufuskie Island Resort and Breathe Spa, Operations manager at Port Royal Racquet Club and the Head Professional at the Shipyard Racquet Club.

In 2006, Ron was the recipient of the United States Professional Tennis Association’s Tennis Professional of the Year for the South Carolina chapter. Ron was awarded the Tester of the Year award in 2012 from the Southern Division of the United States Professional Tennis Association.

He has written articles for such publications as TENNIS MAGAZINE and TENNISPRO and is a national tester for the USPTA and the USRSA.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Jim McLain

Jim was named Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage at Haig Point in 2014. Prior to joining Haig Point Chef Jim was the Executive Chef at Marley’s Grill and the Executive Chef at the Moss Creek Country Club, respectively.

Chef Jim is originally from East Orange, New Jersey and holds degrees from Cornell University, Furman University and the Culinary Institute Le Cordon Bleu in France.

Since joining Haig Point, Chef Jim has instituted “Cooking with Chef Jim” cooking classes and “From the Grill with Chef Jim at Happy Hour.”

His philosophy on cooking is quite simple: Quality First.

Castrice, a United States Air Force Veteran, has been a member of the Haig Point team since August 2016. Prior to Haig Point she was in management for retail corporations. She is an alum of South Carolina State University located in Orangeburg, SC where she studied Marketing. In her four-year tenor, she planned and oversaw major charity and campus events for various organizations.

EQUESTRIAN

Rachel Allen Director of EquestrianRachel Allen

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Rachel Allen graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters in Spanish Language from the College of Charleston. Rachel has ridden and instructed under trainers of a variety of disciplines since first competing at the age of eight. Having had a European foundation in classical riding, she has excelled at many disciplines throughout her riding career including hunters, jumpers and western pleasure. As an undergraduate, she was a member of the NCAA Women’s Varsity Equestrian team having two National Championships during her tenure as a rider. She has instructed beginner and intermediate riding for top trainers and has worked with horses of all types in both training and conditioning.

A five generation South Carolina native from Beaufort Count, Jody Smith has integrated horsemanship into every aspect of her life. Jody was introduced to horses at an early age by family members that owned a dairy farm in Louisiana. The family worked livestock for a living and enjoyed four-H and rodeos on weekends. Jody's personal development started at the age of ten with a friends pony tossing her into the dirt and a patient riding instructor that took her under her guidance that same day. She has been working with horses almost daily from that day forward.

Richard Inglis has been a commercial waterman for the past 40+ years and has been either a Haig Point Captain or Manager dating back to 1985 when the community was founded.  He's operated small fleets of private boats as large as 106' and currently manages the land and water operations for Haig Point.  He's responsible for ferries running 18 round trips a day to and from the embarkation facilities, as well as, a 24-hour water taxi service to and from Harbour Town.  In his free time he's an active member of the Masonic Lodge and Methodist Church, and even finds time to build his own small craft.

MEMBER SERVICES

Tim Richards Facilties DirectorTim Richards

As the Director of Property Services at Haig Point, Tim is in charge of Member Services, Front Desk, Lodging, Facilities Maintenance and the administration of the Architectural Review Board. Tim is originally from Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Early in his career he worked in the hotel industry and owned a restaurant in the Silicon Valley of California. After a two-year stint in Spain, Tim returned to the USA and entered the Private Club and Community Industry. Tim is the State licensed Property Manager In-Charge for Haig Point. He carries National Board Certification in Community Association Management. He is a member of the Club Managers Association of America and the Community Association Management Institute.

Jamie KinardJamie Kinard

Jamie is the Member Service Supervisor at Haig Point. She has been employed with Haig Point since 2006. Jamie began her career with Haig Point as a Member Services Front Desk Associate and has since worked her way into her current position.
Jamie has previous experience in a variety of positions including Human Resources, Catering and Event Planning, Medical Admin, and Food and Beverage among other customer service based positions.

ADMINISTRATION

Doug Egly Chief Executive OfficerDoug Egly

Doug brings a wealth of experience in all facets of club management and real estate development, sales and operations. Most recently, Doug was the General Manager/COO of the prestigious Black Diamond Ranch located near Tampa Bay. He was also Regional Director of Escalante Golf, joining them in 2011 when they acquired Black Diamond, their first club with a residential community.

Originally from Jackson, Michigan, Doug received his BBA from the University of North Texas where he attended on a golf scholarship and remained to coach the Women’s Golf Team. Prior to joining Escalante Golf, Doug spent twelve years with WCI Communities, a premier Florida developer of master planned lifestyle communities and a luxury homebuilder. As a Regional Manager for WCI, Doug was responsible for the start-up and development of three separate communities; Tidewater Preserve, Venetian Golf & River Club and Waterlefe Golf & River Club.

Latonya hails from Atlanta Georgia.  She moved to the area in 1986 and began working for Haig Point.  She's held several roles in the community from working as a server for the "Meals on Wheels" program to the Administrative Assistant to the Golf Course Superintendent.  In her current role as Human Resources Manager, she enjoys helping employees learn and grow.

SALES AND MARKETING

Adam joined the Haig Point team in 2016 as Director of Sales and Marketing.  He has a background in marketing to an international audience through mixed media.  His role at Haig Point includes internal member communications, as well as, attracting prospective new members.

Maria SawyerMaria Sawyer

Membership Sales Manager

Maria joined the Haig Point team in 2017 as Membership Sales Manager.  In the role she is responsible for selling equity and non-equit members.  Prior to Haig Point, Maria spent more than 15 years in Las Vegas working in various sales capacities for amazing companies like Canyon Ranch, Blue Man Group and the Mob Museum.
