Daufuskie Island’s First Oyster Reef Build, coordinated by Jenny Hersch, will take place on Wednesday, April 26 10:45am - Meet at Haig Point dock for boat ride to Bluffton to load bagged shell 1:45pm - Meet at Haig Point dock to build Oyster Reef Volunteers are needed.

Oyster Roast 
THE YEAR OF THE OYSTER (YOTO) was 2016 but, since “the world is our oyster” on Daufuskie Island, the YOTO celebration here was extended into 2017 including the Daufuskie Oyster Roast, and Daufuskie’s first oyster reef build.

Glossy Ibis Sighting 
The relatively scarce glossy ibis, Plegadis Falcinellus, is visiting Daufuskie! There have been several sightings of this rare visitor in the salt marsh at Marysfield and by the pond at the Haig Point Clubhouse.
