Everyone Deserves to Dream Big a Little
This post is the third in a series about discovering the wonders of Haig Point from a visitor’s point of view.

I returned to Haig Point last week for a three-night stay in the Strachan Mansion. I was glad to have a little free time, as I wanted to see the new homes being built at The Sanctuary.

Three homes by Osprey Construction are in various stages of construction. I’m not sure if it was okay to do so, but I walked through each home to see how they looked (and would live). I started visualizing how I would furnish each home. Would I complement the coastal architecture with a island motif? Perhaps a distressed look from Restoration Hardware? My mind started racing as I walked from room to room. Then I saw that each home had a private rear deck over water. My thoughts quickly changed to the vision of drinking a glass of wine at sunset.

It was late in the day, so I headed to the Calibogue Club to pick up my dinner. I was in quite a hurry, yet I saw something that made me not only stop to look, but take the time to get off the golf cart to capture a photo. While I live in Florida and am surrounded by eye-catching sights often (some great, some not-so-good), this amazing view was calling me. Was it the two Adirondack chairs facing Calibogue Sound? Or was it the hammock that has surely been a source of utter relaxation for many? Who knows, but I plan to find out on my next Haig Point visit.
