The serene and natural setting of Haig Point is ideal for the outdoor lover who wants to connect with nature. Hundreds of beautifully untapped acres are surrounded by the Calibogue Sound that feeds the Atlantic ocean. There are salt marshes and freshwater lagoons for water sports aplenty, from fishing and boating to crabbing and shrimping.
Haig Point has endless opportunities for fishing, whether you are looking for an afternoon on the banks of a freshwater lagoon or a deep water fishing excursion on the nearby Atlantic Ocean. On Haig Point and Daufuskie Island, you’ll find numerous stocked lagoons. And if larger fish are your game, try a deep sea fishing charter out of nearby Harbour Town Marina. Crabbing on Daufuskie Island is a Lowcountry tradition. Drop a crab basket or crab pot over one of the tidal bridges on Haig Point and wait for the blue crabs to crawl in to get a bite of the chicken leg bait. Daufuskie is known for its delicious blue crab cakes and famous deviled crab.

You can truly relax here on our beaches. The warm sand and the soft gentle breezes are calling. The lapping surf and an occasional seagull are the only sounds you’ll hear. The nearby historic Bloody Point Beach is home to many natural sea creatures as well. You might just locate a protected Loggerhead Sea Turtle nest, a Starfish, or even Sand Dollars. Haig Point also has beach access adjacent to our Calibogue Club and Beach Club. Take a walk with a friend, search for shark’s teeth, or simply enjoy the summer sun in a beach chair or hammock.
