Jim McLain was named Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage at Haig Point Club and Community in 2014. Prior to joining Haig Point Chef Jim was the Executive Chef at Marley’s Grill and the Executive Chef at the Moss Creek Country Club, respectively.
Chef Jim is originally from East Orange, New Jersey and holds degrees from Cornell University, Furman University and the Culinary Institute Le Cordon Bleu in France.
Since joining Haig Point, Chef Jim has instituted “Cooking with Chef Jim” cooking classes and “From the Grill with Chef Jim at Happy Hour.”
His philosophy on cooking is quite simple: Quality First. “You always have to bring new and fresh ideas to a club setting. This makes dining fun and different each time. Our members demand not only fresh and delicious offerings, but also imaginative and leading edge dining options.” Chef Jim
Jim is married to Rebecca Sue McLain and they have one son, Steven.
