Haig Point teams up with Marline89
to offer new Wellness & Recreation Programs

fitness

The recent trend towards healthier, active lifestyles has hit our island hard and Haig Point has noticed. Membership has grown recently in the younger age brackets and families with and without children are looking for fun activities to keep them fit and healthy throughout the year. With that in mind, Haig Point has partnered with Marline89 LLC (operated by members Marc & Caroline White) to administer new programs in several key areas.

Marline89 has been operating Children’s & Adult camps and Sports Programs for the past 6 years in New
England, Panama & Florida. Before Marline89, Marc & Caroline owned and operated Kutsher’s Sports
Academy, one of the most popular children’s camps in the country, for over 25 years. Caroline is certified as a
Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, and Zumba Dance Instructor and has over 30 years of experience in
teaching fitness & health.

Many members (over 100!) have been participating during the past two years in Fuskie Fit, Fuskie Zumba, and
Fuskie Yoga- weekly exercise classes that have been offered in the Helmus Center. While all three will remain
on the calendar, there will now be additional seasonal offerings throughout the year to give healthy & fun
options to all members.

A combination hike/workout class called “Walk, Talk & Tone” has already begun on Wednesday afternoons and
this will be supplemented by a “Butts & Guts” class every other Wednesday. A beach volleyball weekly event
has been planned to begin in the Spring (just before Happy Hour at the Calibogue Beach!) and Children’s
Sports programs, as well as a revamped Children’s Day Camp this summer, are all on the agenda. Add to
this seasonal Bocce Tournaments, a little 3-on-3 Basketball, and occasional Team Tennis & Trivia nights and
hopefully, you have something for everybody!

All classes and events can be found and registered for on the calendar on the website or the app. We hope
that you will join in and feel that healthy glow throughout the year while having fun with your fellow members
participating in these programs!
