Clubhouses – FOUR
Possibilities - Infinite
How we gather is simply put as …always and in good humor. Next is where, which at Haig Point means the Golf Clubhouse, the beachfront Calibogue Club, even the Strachan Mansion for early risers. We start early, and hopefully, stay up late, all fueled by a creative culinary team and tenders behind the bar imbued with special talents.
Calibogue Club
Looking for an incredible dining experience and a spectacular view? It’s what makes this the social heart of the community and the definitive place to gather – around the bar, throughout two floors of dining with panoramic views, on a long waterfront screen porch, on the decks and around firepits on the beach as the sun sets. This is also the club’s premier culinary destination – where Lowcountry favorites are infused with seasonal specials – and always accompanied with gracious service.
Haig Point Clubhouse
Two imposing stairways frame the Clubhouse façade, suggestive of the grand and festive gatherings that are a Haig tradition. The Clubhouse is home to the indoor/outdoor dining at the Grill and an exceptionally well-appointed Golf Shop, along with a collection of dining rooms and a ballroom for special events, corporate meetings and weddings. Overlooking a shimmering lake and distant fairway, the Clubhouse is just steps away from the Fitness and Tennis Center, making it a lively staple for everyday dining for all our sporting communities.
From first course to last,
delicious
Executive Chef, Taylor Griffin, has been cooking up a storm in Lowcountry kitchens for 15 years. She crab soup, southern fried chicken and green tomatoes, gumbos, cobblers, soups, sandwiches, and of course, oysters, every day and every meal on the Point is another opportunity to stir the soul. And Taylor and his team are maestros. Here, there’s also a distinctly local and innovative approach at work – seasonal ingredients from Daufuskie, the day’s catch fresh from the harbor – whether a forever favorite or a new entrée, the Point always satisfies.
Whipped, shaken and stirring
Chef Taylor Griffin, who makes his home on Daufuskie, and behind the bar, Locksley is a fixture at the Calibogue Club, and as adept with a single malt as with a Shirley Temple.
Cheers at the
Haig Point Beach Club
It’s the best of all worlds for kids of all ages. Beach. Pool. Hot Tub. Sunning lounges and shaded pavilions. And, a beach grill serving up all your daytime favorites. And who doesn’t love chicken fingers with a side of fries?
The Haig Point
Tennis & Fitness Center
The Fitness Center, complete with state-of-the-art equipment, is the perfect place to exercise in air-conditioned comfort. Here too is an adult pool ideal for lap swimming, or just relaxing after a few sets on the courts. The Point’s racquet enthusiasts — tennis and pickleball — also make this their home here on six Har-Tru courts. As the main golf-oriented clubhouse is just steps away, these clustered amenities are always lively – another always social scene that makes this such a uniquely close community.
The Strachan Mansion
The Strachan Mansion at Haig Point was built in 1910 on St. Simons Island as a summer retreat. In 1986, the new developers of the community moved the mansion to Haig Point with two barges over three days in some times treacherous waters. The historic building was restored to its magnificence as you see today.
