Our Sea Island setting is ideal for connecting with nature. Hundreds of beautifully untapped acres are surrounded by Calibogue Sound that feeds the Atlantic Ocean. There are salt marshes and freshwater lagoons for water sports aplenty, from fishing and boating to crabbing and shrimping. But you don't need to be on the water to have fun, with bocce and biking.
You can truly relax here on our beaches. The warm sand and soft, gentle breezes are calling. The lapping surf and an occasional seagull are the only sounds you’ll hear. The nearby historic Bloody Point Beach is home to many natural sea creatures as well. You might just locate a protected Loggerhead sea turtle nest, starfish or sand dollar. Haig Point also has beach access adjacent to Calibogue Club and Beach Club. Take a walk with a friend, search for shark’s teeth or simply enjoy the summer sun in a beach chair or hammock.
Haig Point has endless opportunities for fishing, whether you are looking for an afternoon on the banks of a freshwater lagoon or a deep-water fishing excursion on the Atlantic Ocean. On Haig Point and Daufuskie Island, you’ll find many stocked lagoons. If larger fish are your game, try a deep-sea fishing charter out of nearby Harbour Town Marina. Crabbing on Daufuskie Island is a Lowcountry tradition. Drop a crab basket or crab pot over one of the tidal bridges on Haig Point and wait for the blue crabs to crawl in to get a bite of the bait. Daufuskie is known for its delicious blue-crab cakes and famous deviled crab.
Boating and Watersports
Haig Point is an ideal place for anyone who loves being on the water. Sailboat races, kayaking and jet skis are constant sights on the waves of Calibogue Sound and the Intracoastal Waterway. Haig Point has a community dock where members and guests may tie up for the day, rent a kayak or fish.
In Harbour Town, just minutes from Haig Point by water taxi, members and guests may rent boats, kayaks and wave runners for the day. While in Harbour Town, try parasailing over the Sound to get a bird’s eye view of Haig Point and Daufuskie Island.

Bocce is a game for the ages, and at Haig Point it is a game our residents truly enjoy, whether as a participant or spectator. Located between Strachan Mansion and the Tabby Ruins, the Bocce Courts are a favorite gathering place for all ages. Whenever you pass the Tabby Lawn, you will likely see a friendly pick-up game or tournament underway. Some even say the courts are the best place to be for happy hour!
Bicycle rentals are accessible through the Concierge Office. Children and adult beach cruiser bicycles are available for a day of exploring, exercising or relaxing fun.
The objective of Kids’ Camp is to provide supervised fun and safe activities for children and grandchildren, ages 5-12 years old.
